Since Erik's death, Mystique had been keeping a look out for every hint of the former members of the Brotherhood, or the Acolytes.
She'd found a few to drag out of retirement, reconnected with others who had left after Magneto fell but had time to reconsider since.
Pietro was one of the first to surface. He'd made almost no effort to cover his tracks. He was even using his real first name on the lease for his apartment. Arrogant little boy that he was.
He'd been an Acolyte, and most of them weren't exactly on good terms with her, after she'd abandoned them on Genosha. Hopefully she had enough history with Magneto's own son to get past all that. After all, she'd been closer to his father than anyone. A source of insight to help him understand his father, yes, that angle might be enough to convince him.
Raven Darkholme walked the London streets. This face wouldn't be recognized here. Long blond hair in a tight braid down her narrow back. Darkholme was well known in DC, and had made an enemy of practically every member of the American government, but this was London. Here she was unlikely to see anyone other than Pietro who would recognize her. A little familiarity at the start would help.
Darkholme had spent most of her career sticking to business suits, but a simple black v-neck and jeans would appeal to her quarry more.
She counted addresses as she moved down the block until she reached the right building. There was no guard at the street door, and it took her less than a minute to pick the lock on the iron grate in front of it. If anyone happened to be looking, they'd assume they were just looking at a woman struggling with her keys.
Sixth floor walk up. Of course he'd save on the rent with a high rise that would inconvenience anyone but him.
Coming to the right door, she gave a solid knock. Hopefully he'd be home. If not, she'd just have to let herself in to wait. He should be used to that by now.
