To ensure an enjoyable role-playing experience for everyone, we would like these rules to be followed. If there is a question or suggestion, please do not hesitate to PM an administrator.
1.) Respect. We ask that everyone respect everyone else on this forum. Avoid touchy subjects such as religion and politics, and do not discriminate against others for any reason. Everyone is here to have fun and enjoy the game.
2.) Site Rating. As per Proboards' Terms of Service, the highest rating for this site is PG-13. This pertains to swearing/cussing, violence/gore, and sexual themes. Violence and blood may be a part of this site, dealing with superheroes, yet graphic description will not be allowed. Sexual references and themes must be light -- light kissing, flirting, and very mild touching are the extent to which these scenes can be role-played. Anything that is above the site rating that players want to role-play must be role-played elsewhere, such as e-mail or instant messaging.
3.) Posts. There is no minimum word count, but please try to avoid one liners. Make your posts as descriptive and engaging as possible -- use all of a character's senses, play off of the environment, do whatever you must to keep the creative juices flowing in a thread. Role-play must also be in the third person and past tense (he said, she said).
4.) Plagiarism. It's very bad; do not do it!
5.) Accounts. Each character should have his/her/their own account. Each account's display name should be the character's name, preferably the code name. If the character on the account is human, his/her/their most common name will suffice.
6.) Characters. There is no limit on the amount of characters a role-player may create. However, every character should remain active. Should you wish to drop a character, please contact an admin to let us know.
Profiles. Each character should have his/her/their own profile thread. Fill out the profile form correctly and literately, and you should have no problem getting it accepted by a staff member.
"Mary Sue" and "Gary Stu". Despite the majority of them being mutants, characters are mortals. They are not perfect. Give them power weaknesses and negative personality traits.
God-modding/Power-playing. Members are to only role-play as their own characters, and their characters cannot be invincible.
Relationships. Relationships between characters are welcomed and encouraged, but be mindful of the site's rating. All relationships must be consensual between the role-players, and heterosexual and homosexual (and everything in between) relationships are accepted here.
7.) Activity. A role-playing site only lives as long as the members of the site continue to keep it alive by role-playing. We ask that members do their best to post in-character with all of their accounts at least once week, but more than that is certainly great! Away messages in the appropriate board are appreciated if you know you will be going away for some time. Generally speaking, if an original character has not been role-played in about a month, that account will be bumped down to the "inactive" member group, with all related threads moved into the Fallen Characters archive sub-board. Canons and "want ad" characters will be put back up for adoption. Members who have not come on in over two months with no notice (or hellos in the cbox) will be deleted, but we will make an effort to keep the original character bios in case the members ever wish to return. In short, a member has a minimum of two months to return to us and reclaim their character(s) on the site if the member did not put up an away message.
Violated rules can result in warnings and temporary or permanent bans. These rules are subject to change without notice. Thank you.
